Commercial Credit Underwriter II/Credit Underwriter I

Job Summary This role supports credit underwriting and monitoring for new and existing clients in partnership with a credit team. It involves independently managing low‑complexity transactions or portfolios, completing credit analysis, evaluating risks, and writing financial analysis. The role also includes leading the process, ensuring timely and accurate analysis, and coaching teammates on credit requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead the credit analysis process with support from other analysts and associates. Partner with Credit Officers, Relationship Management, and Risk teammates to understand structuring needs and requirements. Monitor operating performance and financial condition, proactively identifying issues and opportunities. Assist in delivery of financial modeling, loan structure, industry, economic, and other analyses to support the loan decision‑making process. Review work of junior teammates to provide feedback/coaching and ensure compliance with laws, rules, regulations and policy procedures. Manage primary coverage of a portfolio of clients with limited complexity and credit approval for certain credit actions. Participate in loan structure conversations and completion of loan documentation with internal/external legal partners. Analyze client financial performance against past performance, projections, and industry standards. Review financial statements, assess compliance with financial covenants, renew risk ratings, and recommend changes as warranted. Assist in underwriting, credit risk analysis, negotiation, and closing of new or existing transactions, following all relevant policies and procedures. Evaluate transaction and relationship risk‑adjusted profitability to facilitate capital allocation. Build projection models for clients as needed based on historical performance, industry forecasts, and due diligence findings. Train, coach, and mentor Credit Analysts. Partner with client‑facing teammates to consult on sales opportunities and provide product expertise and consultation. Structure the terms of a lease/loan, including pricing, rates, payment, term, and collateral. Manage the credit process for a portfolio of clients, reviewing financial statements, assessing covenant compliance, confirming risk ratings, and recommending changes. Required Qualifications 3+ years of commercial credit underwriting and credit analysis experience. Effective presentation, structuring, financial statement, and credit risk analysis skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Strong business writing skills. Desired Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent experience (preferred).
