Job Description: - Unit Information: - Unit: 4Heart, Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC) - Location: Asheville, NC - Address: 509 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801 - Floor: E4 - CVPC - Building: E Heart Tower - Patient Population: - Primarily CV surgery and vascular surgery, including: - Open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, Bentall, TAVR) - Thoracic lung surgery procedures (lobectomy, thoracotomy) - Esophagogastrectomy - AAA repairs (open and endovascular) - Fem-pop bypass - Carotid endarterectomies - Overflow medical cardiology patients (heart failure, DKA, sepsis, etc.) - Unit Details: - Number of Beds: 40 cardiac surgery stepdown beds - Staff: Approximately 100 total - Day Shift: 1 charge RN, 13 RNs, 4 PCTs, 1.33 HUC - Night Shift: 1 charge RN, 13 RNs, 4 PCTs, 0.33 HUC - Patient Ratios: 1:5 patients per RN, 1:13 for PCTs - Equipment: Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, various lifts - EMR: Cerner - Qualifications: - Must have: - Stepdown experience - Telemetry experience - Preferred: - Prior experience with CV surgery and vascular surgery patients - CVICU experience - Typical Procedures: - Epidural management - Chest tube management - Tube feedings - IV gluccomander - Cardiac gtt management (phenylephrine, dobutamine, etc.) - Ideal Candidate: - Team player - Enjoys a fast-paced environment - Flexible - Required Certifications: - ACLS - BLS - Dress Code: - Scrub Color: All navy, white tops/navy bottoms, or all white - Scheduling: - No call required - Minimum: 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) per 6-week schedule - Flexible to work Holidays Why Catalytic Solutions (CatSol): At CatSol, we connect dedicated therapists with rewarding assignments across the country.
