About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Registered Nurse – Virginia**Start Date:** September 22, 2026 **Location:** Salem, Virginia **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Day and night shifts available; 27-bed Emergency Department; nurse-to-patient ratios 4-6:1; four weekend shifts per four-week scheduling period (Friday or Saturday for nights; Saturday or Sunday for days); no on-call required**Highlights:** - High-volume, fast-paced emergency department with 27 beds and comprehensive critical care capabilities- Collaborative team environment with experienced RN and paramedic staff providing exceptional emergency care- Perform advanced procedures including RSI, central line placement, tPA administration, sepsis protocols, and stroke interventions- EMR system: Meditech- Day shift staffing includes charge nurse, multiple RNs, and paramedics with additional coverage during peak hours- No floating to other units required**Requirements:** - Active RN license in Virginia or eligibility for compact state licensure- Minimum 2-3 years of Emergency Department experience required- Must have completed 2-3 travel assignments- Experience with high-acuity, high-volume emergency departments preferred- Experience with 5:1 patient ratios strongly preferred- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required- ENPC, NRP, and NIH stroke certification preferred**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** This position offers the chance to work with a dedicated emergency medicine team in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
