Job Title: General Liability Defense Attorney Location: Chicago, IL (60602) Work Environment: Hybrid (2 or 3 of days WFH) Bachelor’s degree required: Yes and JD plus Licensed to practice in Illinois and/or Indiana Referral Fee: AMS will pay $1,000 should the person you refer gets hired JOB DESCRIPTION About the Role Our client, a respected mid-sized law firm located in the Chicago Loop, is seeking an experienced General Liability Defense Attorney to join their growing practice. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated attorney with strong litigation skills and a deep background in insurance defense to step into a role offering impactful client work, professional growth, and meaningful collaboration. Key Responsibilities Handle a broad range of general liability and tort litigation matters. Represent clients in court appearances, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations. Develop case strategy, prepare pleadings, motions, and discovery responses. Conduct legal research and provide risk assessments and recommendations to clients. Work closely with clients, maintaining strong communication and delivering excellent service. Take on opportunities for business development, including collaborating with existing casualty defense clients and developing your own portfolio. Qualifications 2-6 years of Illinois OR Indiana insurance defense experience required. Strong foundation in tort litigation and general liability matters. Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Ability to manage a busy caseload and work independently while thriving in a collaborative environment.
