Locum NP (Nurse Practitioner), PA (Physician's Assistant) Cardiothoracic Surgery

Responsibilities

• Assist in pre-operative and post-operative care of cardiothoracic patients
• Conduct physical examinations and assess patient health status
• Provide treatments and prescribed medications as directed by physicians
• Collaborate with the surgical team in the operating room
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and procedures
• Maintain accurate and updated patient records
• Participate in patient rounds and case discussions
• Ensure adherence to clinical guidelines and protocols

Requirements

• Associate's degree or higher in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies
• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Georgia
• Experience in a clinical setting, preferably in surgical or cardiothoracic care
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple responsibilities
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Professionalism and commitment to providing the highest level of patient care

Schedule: 24-hour beeper call, specific dates

Daily Volume: 8 patients

Duties: Consults, ED, CVICU, and anything related to CT surgery

Team Structure: 1 Surgeon, 2 APPS, floor and OR nurse structure

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified

Paid travel & expenses
