Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to provide high-quality perioperative care. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in a variety of surgical procedures and be adaptable to fluctuating schedules.

Responsibilities:

• Administer preoperative and postoperative patient care within the surgical department.
• Assist surgical teams during complex procedures such as gastric bypass, thoracic surgeries, orthopedic, neuro, and gynecological surgeries.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including infection control, laser safety, and universal protocols.
• Demonstrate proficiency in phlebotomy and IV placement, adhering to mandatory competency requirements.
• Document patient care accurately in EPIC and other relevant systems.
• Support the surgical team with equipment setup, sterilization, and specimen handling.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid NY State Registered Nurse license.
• Possess a minimum of 3 years of OR experience, including diverse specialties such as ortho, neuro, GYN/urology, vascular, and thoracic surgery.
• Demonstrate proficiency in EPIC charting and familiar with surgical procedures listed.
• Be capable of float assignments across different units and procedures.
• Hold BLS certification.
• Be willing to work 4x10 hour day shifts, alternating between 9:00-19:30 and 11:00-21:30.
