Warehouse Associate II

This position is in-office M-F at our East Point locations and must be available to work weekend and flexible hours, as needed Who We Are The Atlanta Community Food Bank is working to end hunger in our community with the food, people and big ideas needed so that no one worries about where their next meal is coming from. Since 1979, we’ve been providing food for a growing network of nonprofit partners – including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers. We currently serve more than 700 partners in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia. Where You’ll Work Logistics / Supply Chain About The Role As a Warehouse Associate II at the Atlanta Community Food Bank, you will play a crucial role in our mission to address food insecurity by accurately and efficiently picking and preparing orders for distribution. You will work in our warehouse, using order lists and equipment to locate, pick, and package food items for delivery to our partner agencies and community members in need. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to ensuring that orders are filled accurately and on time, contributing directly to our efforts to provide food assistance to individuals and families facing hunger. This individual must provide effective and safe operation of all warehouse equipment and maintain a clean, safe work environment. Warehouse Associates contribute additional work as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Manager II, Operations. What You’ll Do Order Picking: Accurately pick food items from designated warehouse locations based on order lists and picking instructions. Ensure that picked items match the quantity, quality, and specifications required for each order. Package and prepare orders for distribution, including labeling, sorting, and organizing items for delivery. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, storage areas, and picking equipment. Assist in inventory counts, stock replenishment, and cycle counting activities as needed. Communicate any discrepancies, damaged items, or inventory issues to supervisors for resolution. Adhere to food safety standards, handling procedures, and storage guidelines to ensure food quality and freshness. Contribute to a positive and team-oriented work environment, supporting colleagues and participating in training and development activities as required. Warehousing Ensures accurate warehouse inventory in all staging and storage areas, including Ambient, Refrigerated and Freezer locations. Utilizes Warehouse Management System (WMS) for product placement in the Ambient, Refrigerated, and/or Freezer areas. Ensures all physical product movements are appropriately recorded in electronic WWMS and/or other tracking system(s) and documentation. Properly utilizes First in First out (FIFO) procedures. Food & Warehouse Safety Maintains Food Safety and Housekeeping requirements in all warehouse operations. Ensures proper storage temperatures and conditions are maintained, tracked, and recorded. Keeps all floor areas organized, free of debris, water or other potential contaminants or hazards. Follow Personnel Safety procedures. Pre-check warehouse equipment for safety prior to operation. Wears and utilizes all required PPE and safety equipment / tools. Performs other duties as assigned. Key Competencies we look for in All our Food Bankers are: Customer Focus Decision Making Accountability The Ability to Navigate Change What You’ll Need: Skills and Experience your resume should demonstrate: Extremely proficient in operating stand-up forklifts, sit-down forklifts, and electric pallet jacks, including safe handling, loading/unloading, and maneuvering of materials and inventory. Knowledgeable with RF Scanners. Knowledge of warehouse safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and best practices in workplace safety, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe material handling techniques. Ability to pick, pack, and stage orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring on-time delivery and quality control of products. Demonstrated teamwork skills, working effectively with warehouse colleagues, supervisors, and cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals and priorities. Basic understanding of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, including performing routine inspections, reporting maintenance issues, and ensuring equipment reliability. Physical fitness and stamina to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in tasks such as labeling and organizing inventory to maintain order and efficiency in the warehouse. Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic work environment. Clear communication skills, both verbal and written, to follow instructions, report issues, and collaborate with team members and supervisors. There May Be Some Physical Demands Employees are routinely required to lift and transport heavy items to waist level, up to 75 lbs. Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, climbing, and walking are required. Required to drive a forklift and operate warehouse equipment. This position would normally have routine opportunities to alter physical position or change eye focus. Frequently operates in temperature conditions consistent with outside weather. Frequently transition between ambient and refrigerator / freezer temperatures. Occasional regional travel with ACFB team members may be required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
