Correctional Lieutenant

The Correctional Lieutenant is a second level supervisor who may have charge for an assigned watch or major area in a correctional facility and supervises the work of subordinates in the safe custody, discipline, and welfare of incarcerated people. This position supervises custody staff working with incarcerated people in the Mental Health Services Delivery System. You have a key role in ensuring collaboration between custody, nursing, and mental health staff. You shall ensure assigned staff are utilizing de-escalation techniques, show a willingness to motivate incarcerated people to attend all out of cell activities, and are collaborating across disciplines, etc. Limited term 12 months; may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent. Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s). PLP 2025 requires that each full-time employee receive a 3% reduction in pay in exchange for five (5) hours of PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027.
