Veterinary Doctor's Assistant

ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital Los Angeles is seeking a Veterinary Doctor's Assistant to join our growing Internal Medicine team! Our Doctor's Assistants work closely with our medical teams by guiding clients through their visit with ACCESS (from history taking to discharging) helping to establish the foundation for a trusting and empathetic visit. Your responsibilities may include:

• Work closely with Board Certified Specialists and Emergency DVMs
• Serve the critical role of being the liaison between doctors, clients, and patients
• Organize/track patient diagnostics
• Guide pet owners through discharges, paperwork, visits, follow up questions.
• Communicate with clients, referring DVMs; and pharmacies as needed regarding appointments, medical concerns, patient updates, referrals, and prescriptions

Our ideal candidates:

• Have a desire to help people and their pets
• Minimum 2 years veterinary experience in a client service role or similar role
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently in a clear and audible voice
• A friendly and professional demeanor
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

• Must be able to work 1 weekend day per week

At ACCESS, we recognize the importance of those individuals taking such good care of our pets and their families by offering competitive pay starting at $21 - $26/hour (dependent upon experience). ACCESS Los Angeles also offers shift differentials. Shift hours worked between: 7pm-11pm = additional $2/hour 11pm-7am = additional $3/hour any shift on Saturdays and Sundays = additional $2/hour We invest heavily in our employees with many opportunities for growth and development!
