Milling machine operator

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented 2nd Shift CNC Milling & Router Operator to join our custom manufacturing team in Charlotte.

salary: $18 - $22 per hour
shift: Second
work hours: 2 PM - 10:30 PM
education: No Degree Required

Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Load raw materials (wood, plastics, or light metals) onto CNC milling and routing equipment and run pre-programmed jobs for die board production.
• Basic Setups: Follow simple setup sheets to align materials, secure fixtures, and ensure the machine is ready for the production run.
• Tooling Changes: Monitor tool performance and safely change out cutting tools, router bits, or milling inserts when they become worn.
• Quality Checking: Perform visual and basic dimensional checks on finished die boards using standard tape measures, calipers, or templates to ensure holes and slots line up perfectly.
• Autonomous Problem Solving: Work independently during the afternoon shift to keep machines running efficiently, clearing chips and debris from the workspace.
• Shift Handover: Communicate clearly with the 1st shift team during turnaround to understand what jobs are running and ensure a smooth operational transition.
• Safety First: Maintain a clean work area and strictly follow all safety guidelines and proper PPE requirements.

The essential functions of this role include:

• wearing steel toe shoes
• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• standing for 8 hours at one time
• working up to 5 hrs of overtime per week
