Position: RN Clinical Nurse – Critical Care (Night Shift) Night shift position located in the United States. Job Summary The RN Clinical Nurse – Critical Care is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized, high‑quality, safe patient care. The role is governed by the Wellstar Shared Governance Model and the Professional Practice Model, and is supported by evidence‑based research. Core Responsibilities Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) with evidence‑based practice and analytical/critical thinking to individualize care and coordinate effective partnerships. Provide relationship‑based, patient‑centered care that adapts to population‑specific characteristics, cultural diversity, and patient goals. Partner with patients, family members, and significant others using appropriate methods such as bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and timely patient teaching. Use current clinical practice standards and maintain up‑to‑date certifications. Coordinate safe quality patient care delivery and documentation, promoting a respectful, inclusive clinical environment. Demonstrate teamwork and fiscal responsibility while supporting recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members. Participate in performance improvement, research, and evidence‑based practice initiatives, including shared governance. Complete professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population‑specific training. Serve as a preceptor or mentor for professional nurses and other clinical staff or students. Promote evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement, including value analysis and participation in data collection. Plan for patient care across the continuum, develop protocols and procedures, and support efficient use of resources. Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards, and code of conduct. Required Minimum Education Associate’s degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Required Minimum Licenses & Certifications ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or equivalent – required upon hire. BLS (Basic Life Support) or equivalent – required upon hire. Registered Nurse (RN) – Single State or RN‑COMPACT – Multi‑state Compact. Additional Licenses & Certifications ACLS‑I (Instructor) or ACLS‑P (Provisional, 180 days). BLS‑I (Instructor). Other certifications as required. Required Minimum Experience Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care experience. Required Minimum Skills Strong clinical assessment and critical‑thinking abilities. Effective communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Commitment to evidence‑based practice and continuous quality improvement.
