Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hours Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with basic ICU equipment, 2 years of ICU nursing experience Description: Seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse. The position requires working 12-hour night shifts. A minimum of 2 years of ICU experience is required. Candidates must possess ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications. The unit typically has 12 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2. Common cases include pneumonia, ventilator management, post-cardiac catheterization, and acute respiratory distress syndrome. Candidates should be familiar with common drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Levophed, and Insulin. Floating to other units may be required based on experience. Weekend shifts are required, along with occasional holiday shifts. Support staff includes Patient Care Technicians and Health Unit Secretaries. Direct interaction with a Nurse Manager may occur when needed. Experience with basic ICU equipment is essential. The unit experiences variations in ventilator usage. Common procedures include temporary pacemaker insertions and the use of intra-aortic balloon pumps. Candidates should be able to adapt to various patient care situations. The environment is fast-paced and requires strong critical thinking skills. A collaborative approach to patient care is encouraged.
