About The Company:

A professional legal services firm is seeking a Legal Assistant/Front Desk Coordinator to support its Baton Rouge office. This position offers the opportunity to work in a smaller, fast-paced legal environment while providing both legal administrative support and front desk coverage. The ideal candidate will have a background in litigation, strong organizational skills, and a polished, professional presence.

Job Description:

The Legal Assistant/Front Desk Coordinator will provide a combination of legal administrative support and front desk coordination, with responsibilities split approximately 50/50 between the two areas. The individual will initially serve as a floating legal support resource for multiple attorneys and teams while learning the firm's processes and systems. After approximately six months, there may be an opportunity to transition to a specific team based on strengths and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Split time approximately 50/50 between legal assistant responsibilities and front desk coverage.
• Answer, screen, and route incoming calls while providing professional and courteous service.
• Greet visitors and vendors and serve as a professional first point of contact for the office.
• Maintain the front desk, conference rooms, and overall office appearance.
• Provide floating legal support to attorneys and legal teams as needed.
• Complete state and federal e-filings.
• Docket and calendar legal deadlines.
• Assist with document preparation, proofreading, and formatting.
• Coordinate meetings, depositions, conference calls, and travel arrangements.
• Prepare hearing notebooks and assist with trial preparation.
• Manage incoming and outgoing communications.
• Provide administrative and legal support to additional attorneys and team members as needed.

Qualifications:

• 3–4 years of relevant experience preferred;
  candidates with more orless experience will be considered.
• Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary, Paralegal, or in a related legal support role.
• Litigation experience is required.
• Plaintiff personal injury experience is strongly preferred.
• State and federal e-filing experience is required.
• Experience with legal software;
  experience with Filevine is a plus, but training will be provided.
• Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional and polished demeanor when interacting with callers, visitors, vendors, attorneys, and colleagues.
• Ability to work onsite daily.
• Comfortable balancing legal support responsibilities with front desk coverage.
• Reliable, adaptable, coachable, and willing to learn new processes and systems.
• Bachelor's degree is not required;
  relevant legal experience is valued more heavily than formal education.
