Learning Solutions Strategist

Role Purpose

The Learning Solutions Strategist is a client-facing pre-sales and solutioning partner who works closely with ELB sellers to help identify, shape, and win custom learning opportunities.

This role leads discovery with prospective clients, uncovers their underlying business and performance needs, and translates those needs into practical learning solutions, proposals, RFP/RFQ responses, and SOWs. The strategist brings both learning expertise and commercial judgment ; understanding not only what should be built, but what should be sold, how it should be positioned, and whether it can realistically be delivered.

This is not primarily a project delivery or instructional design role . The focus is the front half of the sales cycle: discovery, consultative solutioning, opportunity development, proposal strategy, and helping Sales win the work.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales on prospective client opportunities from discovery through proposal and close .

• Lead client discovery to understand business goals, performance gaps, pain points, budget, and desired outcomes.

• Qualify opportunities and determine whether ELB's capabilities are a strong fit.

• Translate client needs into learning strategies and solution approaches that are commercially and operationally realistic.

• Participate in client presentations and solution discussions alongside Sales.

• Own or significantly contribute to proposals, RFPs, RFQs, and SOWs , ensuring responses are tailored and compelling.

• Help develop scope, assumptions, timelines, pricing considerations, and solution differentiators.

• Partner with Sales to address objections, refine the solution, and move opportunities toward close.

• Work with Instructional Design, Delivery, and Accounting to ensure what is sold can actually be delivered.

• Use AI extensively for research, proposal drafting, analysis, presentations, and other production work while maintaining human judgment and quality control.

• Learn from wins and losses to continuously improve ELB's sales and proposal approach.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in pre-sales, solution consulting, consultative selling, learning strategy, or a related client-facing role .

• Demonstrated experience helping Sales develop and win business .

• Direct experience with client discovery, solution development, and proposals/RFPs/RFQs/SOWs .

• Strong understanding of custom eLearning and learning services.

• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

• Strong commercial judgment around scope, pricing, feasibility, and timelines .

• Strong generative AI proficiency for research, drafting, analysis, and presentation development.

• Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
