In this role, you will ensure reliable, efficient, and compliant delivery of life-saving products, while advancing operational excellence and elevating the customer experience.Our Airways campus supports multiple Medtronic operating units and plays a critical role in ensuring patients receive the therapies they depend on—when and where they need them.This role is based onsite at our Memphis, TN Airways campus and requires a regular in-person presence five days per week. Given the scale, complexity, and leadership expectations of this position, being onsite enables close collaboration with operations teams, direct engagement with leaders and employees, and real-time decision-making to drive performance, safety, and continuous improvement across the distribution center.As the Senior Director, Delivery Operations, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for a 1M+ square foot, temperature-controlled, highly automated distribution center, driving service excellence, scalability, and continuous improvement across the network.Primary Responsibilities:Lead end-to-end distribution and logistics operations, managing the flow of goods, services, and information from origin through customer delivery to meet service, quality, and regulatory expectationsOversee large-scale distribution center performance, including forward stocking locations, cross-dock operations, and logistics partnerships, ensuring high service levels and operational efficiencyDrive operational excellence, leveraging Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize processes, reduce waste, and improve total cost of ownershipLeverage advanced supply chain technologies, including WMS, TMS, and automation systems, to enhance visibility, scalability, and network performancePartner cross-functionally with manufacturing, commercial, customer service, and global supply chain teams to resolve delivery challenges and improve fulfillment outcomesIntegrate market and operational insights from suppliers, transportation providers, and internal stakeholders to strengthen Medtronic’s competitive positionLead financial performance, managing logistics budgets, identifying cost optimization opportunities, and balancing service and cost objectivesBuild and develop high-performing teams, fostering an inclusive culture while leading through change in a complex, matrixed global environmentEnsure compliance within a highly regulated environment, maintaining adherence to quality and regulatory standardsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree with 15+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, logistics, or distribution operations within a complex global environment and 10+ years of people leadership experience OR advanced degree with 13+ years of progressive experience and 10+ years of people leadership experienceKnowledge of distribution network design and logistics technologies, including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and automation solutionsPreferred QualificationsExperience leading large-scale, highly automated distribution centersExperience implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or operational excellence methodologiesFinancial management experience, including budget ownership and cost optimization initiativesExperience within a regulated industry such as medical technology, healthcare, or life sciencesExperience influencing and collaborating across a global matrixed organizationFor Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.Physical Job RequirementsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position. The physical demands described within the Responsibilities section of this job description are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
