Job Title: MIG Welder / Fabrication Technician

1st shift - $22-$26/HR

Job Description

This role focuses on flux core MIG welding on mild steel and participating in a variety of metal fabrication tasks. You will weld, finish, and grind your own work, assist in general fabrication when production slows, and have opportunities to learn TIG welding and other shop skills. The position is ideal for entry-level welders who want hands-on experience and the chance to grow into broader fabrication or industrial painting responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform flux core MIG welding on mild steel components to meet quality and production standards.
• Finish and grind out your own welds to ensure clean, structurally sound, and visually acceptable results.
• Assist in general fabrication departments when welding production is slower, supporting team needs across the shop.
• Assemble products and structures, including items such as fencing for highways and bridges and manholes.
• Operate and help run fabrication machines and equipment as needed.
• Deburr products and perform basic finishing work to prepare parts for final use or further processing.
• Use tape measures and other basic tools to take accurate measurements and verify dimensions.
• Read and interpret blueprints to understand welding symbols, dimensions, and fabrication requirements.
• Work with sheet metal and stainless steel as required by specific projects.
• Participate in occasional TIG welding projects and remain open to learning TIG processes and techniques.
• Collaborate with fabrication and machine shop teams to support workflow across multiple buildings.
• Follow shop safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Adapt to changing tasks, moving between welding, fabrication, assembly, and machine operation as needed.

Work Environment

The role is based in approximately 35,000 square feet of warehouse space spread across multiple buildings, including a metal fabrication shop, machine shop, and office areas. The shop operates with a laid-back, blue-collar culture where music is allowed and the atmosphere is informal. You may need to move in and out of different buildings during the workday. The environment is typical of a metal fabrication facility, with welding, machining, and assembly work taking place throughout the space. The location is connected to a nearby gas station offering low fuel prices, which can be convenient for those commuting from rural or metro areas. The shop encourages a practical, work-ready dress code suitable for welding and fabrication, and provides boot reimbursement after six months to help with appropriate footwear. This is a long-term, non-temporary opportunity in a stable industrial setting.

This is a Permanent position based out of LORETTO, MN.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
