Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)

Key Responsibilities Conduct routine and emergency medical care for inmates, including chronic care clinics, infirmary rounds, and emergency treatment on‑site. Adhere to established policies and procedures for medical care, including documentation in SOAP format, adherence to formulary regimens, and utilizing available in‑house resources for treatment. Assume responsibility and accountability for individual judgments and actions, reporting any concerns or questions to the Medical Director or Health Services Administrator. Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with accepted practices for incarcerated individuals. Provide input into facility mandatory committees as requested. Additional Details Full‑time position, 4×8‑hour day shift (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri) weekly. Adult Primary Care. Qualifications & Requirements Education Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Advanced degree in an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Experience Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience with corrections experience preferred. Patience and tact to deal with the inmate patient population and ability to work effectively in the corrections environment. Scheduling flexibility required to rotate hours and shifts, and to be mobilized during emergencies. Licenses / Certifications Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner within the state of employment.
