About the Opportunity A privately held, multi-entity organization is seeking an experienced Regional Director of Finance to lead all accounting and financial operations across a diverse portfolio of operating companies and investment holdings. This senior leadership role will partner closely with ownership and executive leadership to provide strategic financial guidance, ensure accurate reporting, strengthen controls, and support long-term organizational growth. The ideal candidate will have experience overseeing accounting functions for multiple business entities, managing financial reporting and cash flow, and leading accounting teams in a complex business environment. A strong hospitality background is required, with experience supporting hotel, resort, restaurant, or other guest-service operations preferred. Position Overview The Regional Director of Finance is responsible for the overall financial management of several affiliated companies, including oversight of accounting operations, financial reporting, cash management, compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.This role also provides leadership and oversight for the Human Resources function. Reporting directly to executive leadership, the Regional Director of Finance serves as a key business partner supporting operational performance, investment decisions, and strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership
- Direct accounting and financial operations across multiple business entities.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Produce consolidated financial reports for ownership and leadership.
- Analyze financial performance and identify opportunities for operational improvement and profitability enhancement.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
- Monitor company cash flow and liquidity.
- Manage banking relationships and financing requirements.
- Support lender reporting and financial covenant compliance.
- Coordinate annual insurance renewals and risk management activities.
- Assist with year-end reporting and tax return preparation in partnership with external accounting firms.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain general ledger integrity and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
- Oversee cash management, banking activity, and treasury functions.
- Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and systems.
- Prepare financial presentations and reports for ownership and leadership meetings.
- Serve as the primary financial liaison for business system implementations and software upgrades.
- Support accounting and reporting for a combination of operating businesses and investment entities.
- Oversee revenue recognition, inventory accounting, cost controls, and cash management.
- Manage accounting for leased assets, tenant receivables, operating expenses, and capital projects as applicable.
- Ensure accurate reporting across diverse business lines and entity structures.
- Oversee payroll, sales and use tax, property tax, and other regulatory filings.
- Maintain strong internal controls and financial safeguards.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with outside auditors, tax advisors, banks, and regulatory agencies.
- Lead and develop accounting staff.
- Provide oversight and support for Human Resources leadership.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to improve financial performance.
- Participate in strategic planning, acquisitions, and growth initiatives.
- Support ownership with financial modeling, investment analysis, and special projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA designation preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience.
- Significant hospitality finance experience required.
- Experience supporting hotels, resorts, restaurants, casinos, or other guest-service operations strongly preferred.
- Experience managing accounting across multiple entities or business units.
- Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management expertise.
- Experience leading teams and developing accounting personnel.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a dynamic environment.
