Traditional travelers may occasionally float to a free-standing ER or other units as needed.OrientationNew Graduate Orientation: 1 week of general orientation followed by 24 weeks of unit-specific training.Preceptor Orientation: 1-2 shifts of onboarding plus 2-3 weeks on the unit.Traditional Traveler: 1-2 shifts for onboarding on the unit.SchedulingWeekend Rotation: Every other weekend.Holiday Expectations: As needed per unit requests.Time Off Approval: 7 days in advance, additional requests go to the nurse manager.Shift Times: Various starting times including 0700, 1100, 1200, 1400, or 1900.Additional NotesUtilizes a 1:1 model for Critical Assessment Plan (CAP).Scrub Color: Any solid, professional color is acceptable.Free Parking: Available for all staff.Unit Culture: Emphasis on teamwork, though may be a high-stress environment.
