Cardiac Sonographer

General Purpose of Job To perform and/or assist cardiologists with all cardiac ultrasound procedures done in the department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain utmost level of confidentiality at all times. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures. Demonstrate business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines. Perform and assist cardiologists with all echocardiograms (2‑D, M‑Mode, TEE, Fetal). Prepare an accurate preliminary echocardiogram report for the cardiologist. Maintain an adequate level of supplies in the department. Assure that the equipment is in good working order. Communicate with appropriate personnel regarding department and exams done. Assist the cardiologists as needed. Participate in departmental and hospital‑wide process improvement. Ensure that generic/unit safety measures are met in the department. Travel to out‑of‑town clinics as needed. Rotate 24‑hour on‑call duties. Education and/or Experience Registry in Sonography (ARDMS or RCVT) or Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school, with one year allowance to obtain registry.
