Validates and reviews data for accuracy through Level I reviews. Uploads laboratory data into LIMS system to generate data packages for delivery to clients. Must be knowledgeable of a broad range of laboratory testing equipment requiring the exercise of discretion and judgment in its operation.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs laboratory procedures requiring knowledge of scientific methods and testing procedures including:Batching and prepping samples for analysis, taking into account special and varied client and quality assurance requirementsMaking reagents for sample analysisAliquots extracted samples to maximize laboratory productivityPreparing appropriate standards to ensure compliant dataDetermining appropriate routine and complex analysis methods for a wide variety of organic and inorganic samplesOperation, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory instrumentsUploads data into LIMS system for reviewPerforms Level I review of data produced to ensure accuracyMaintains logbooksMonitors refrigerator temperaturesResponsible for performing job functions within Eurofins Environment Testing USA environmental health and safety and quality assurance standardsMaintains housekeeping standards for work areaInventories and stocks laboratory suppliesSecondary Duties:Orders suppliesWashes and inventories glasswareWrites NCM’s for projects with quality assurance issuesPurges analyzed samplesAssists in training new analysts on laboratory proceduresAssists in other areas of laboratory when neededQualificationsBasic Minimum Qualifications (BMQ): Education/Experience (BMQ): BS or BA in chemistry or related field. 3 years laboratory experience maysubstitute for degree.Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in routine and complex laboratoryprocedures and instruments, preferably in a production environment2+ years in an environmental or analytical lab, hands on ICP-MS and ICP-OES experience ((EPA 200.7/200.8, 6010/6020), sample digestion, and working knowledge of TNI/NELAC QC requirements.Previous production-oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meetdeadlines)Ability and/or Skills (BMQ): Reading, writing and speaking skillsProblem solving skillsTeam participation and meeting management skillsTime management and organization skillsUse calculator/mathematical formulas and conceptsComplete work within time and quality constraintsWork independently following written or verbal instructionsCooperate and coordinate both orally and in writingFollow and learn appropriate protocols in one or more of the following disciplines:Organic preparationMetals preparation and analysisGas ChromatographyGas Chromatography/Mass SpectrometryRadio ChemistryWet ChemistryHigh Resolution preparation and analysisLow Resolution preparation and analysisAdditional InformationRequirements:Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorshipProfessional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in EnglishSchedule is Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm with overtime as needed.
