Required Qualifications

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science, along with a degree in Cognitive Ergonomics, Psychology, Industrial Design, or an equivalent field.
\n
• Practical experience in cognitive ergonomics, including cognition, perception, decision-making, workload, situation awareness, and human error.
\n
• Knowledge of physical ergonomics, including anthropometry, strength, reach, and vision.
\n
• Approximately 10 years of relevant aerospace industry experience, particularly in aircraft systems, flight operations, regulatory environments, and design standards such as MIL-STD, SAE ARP, and ARINC.
\n
• Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
\n
• Ability to plan and execute experiments, evaluations, and validation and verification tests.
\n
• Ability to learn new software tools, manage competing priorities, and work independently or collaboratively.
\n
• Strong analytical judgment, organization, initiative, and interpersonal skills.

Job Description

\n

We are seeking an experienced Human Factors Engineering professional to support the conceptualization, design, evaluation, and certification of aircraft flight deck interfaces. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in cognitive ergonomics, human-machine interface (HMI) design, usability evaluation, and aerospace systems.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Apply cognitive ergonomics expertise to flight deck HMI design, testing, and analysis.
\n
• Support requirements development, task analysis, and human error analysis.
\n
• Develop HMI simulations and prototypes using computer-based tools.
\n
• Create and maintain Human Factors documentation for new aircraft, cockpit modifications, and sustaining programs.
\n
• Conduct User-Centered Design activities for flight deck interfaces.
\n
• Perform scenario-based flight deck and UX evaluations in accordance with flight deck design philosophy.
\n
• Collaborate with flight crews to assess cockpit physical and cognitive usability.
\n
• Support certification activities related to 1302 and other Human Factors regulations.
\n
• Coordinate with multiple aircraft programs and platforms.
\n
