Loading Dock Supervisor

Position Overview The Loading Dock Supervisor bridges the gap between logistical operations and exceptional hospitality. In this role, you will oversee loading dock activities, ensure strict policy and safety compliance, and lead your team to deliver pleasant, courteous, and efficient service to all guests and tenants. Position Schedule Core Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM Flexibility: Occasional rotating Saturday shifts required, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM Key Responsibilities Prioritize exceptional guest experiences in every interaction by maintaining a welcoming, ready-to-serve posture. Acknowledge all guests with eye contact and a smile, prioritizing their needs before other administrative tasks. Use VPNE preferred terminology and communication standards. Assist with training, coaching, and mentoring new and existing employees on best practices. Dock Operations & Logistics Log all incoming deliveries to the loading dock accurately. Sort, scan, and efficiently deliver packages to building tenants. Manage traffic control, parking enforcement, and building access for all loading dock areas. Maintain clean and organized dock spaces using brooms, dustpans, and floor scrubbers. Enforce all VPNE and site-specific policies and guidelines. Qualifications & Requirements Experience Level: Entry to Mid-Level. Proven experience in warehouse operations with demonstrated success in a supervisory, team lead, or management role. Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age. Language Skills: Proficient in English (written and verbal). Compliance & Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of OSHA and DOT safety standards. Active certification for material handling equipment (specifically forklifts) is preferred. Clearances: Ability to receive medical and/or security clearance for one or more job sites. Physical & Core Skills Physical Stamina: Ability to effectively maneuver, bend, stand, sit, or run for prolonged periods in all outdoor and indoor weather conditions. Lifting Capabilities: Ability to safely and repeatedly lift a minimum of 50 lbs and push a minimum of 200 lbs. Dexterity: Manual dexterity to operate basic garage equipment, pay-on-foot machines, and garage barriers. Interpersonal Skills: Strong sense of customer service with the ability to build quick relationships, problem-solve, and stay organized. Presentation: Ability and willingness to smile during every interaction and strictly maintain VPNE uniform standards.
