E.I.T Certificate Required* Description: The Axel Group is seeking a Civil Engineer for our client's team in Knoxville, TN. This opportunity involves working within an internal engineering division dedicated to land development projects. The role offers a chance to contribute to the design, permitting, and project support for community-building initiatives, including residential and multi-family developments. Responsibilities: Assist in feasibility studies for project acquisitions, including concept planning, zoning analysis, preliminary grading, and cost estimating. Facilitate the preparation of civil construction plans for residential subdivisions and multi-family projects to secure agency permits and approvals. Support engineering design tasks, technical reports, and construction phase services, including site visits, review of submittals, RFIs, and as-built reviews. Coordinate and execute engineering services such as reports, calculations for infrastructure and drainage systems, grading, and pavement design. Assist in preparing hydrology and stormwater management reports supporting design and permitting. Prepare lot fit exhibits with detailed house plans for single-family developments. Attend project meetings, agency review sessions, and prepare responses to review comments for project approvals. Stay informed about current regulations and criteria from local, state, and federal agencies. Implement innovative design concepts to enhance efficiency and cost savings. Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university. Active E.I.T. registration in the required state; ability to obtain P.E. license. Minimum of 1+ years of engineering experience related to land development projects, with residential experience preferred. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office platforms; experience with Arc GIS is preferred. Ability to work overtime and travel overnight as needed.
