Job Summary
Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician Ellsworth, ME. This position involves supporting a busy surgical unit with a focus on a variety of adult and minimal pediatric cases, including general, urology, ENT, OBGYN, ortho, and endoscopy procedures. The role requires collaboration with anesthesia teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient intraoperative support.

Job Details

• Position Description: Support surgical operations in a 64-bed facility with 4 operating rooms, performing a mix of general surgeries, urology, ENT, OBGYN, orthopedics, and endoscopy cases.
• Required Qualifications: Certification as a Surgical Technician or Operating Room Technician with BLS required; CST skills preferred but not required; experience with Cerner or EPIC electronic medical record systems; willingness to be trained in specific procedures and support tasks.
• Schedule: 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with a minimum of 40 hours per week, starting from 07:00 AM to 05:30 PM. Call shifts approximately 6-7 times per month, including some weekends and holidays, with response times of within 20 minutes.
• Additional Information: Orientation includes one week of training with a call buddy, with clinical support from anesthesia and nursing staff. Support staff include supervisor, resource nurses, OR educator, and anesthesia team.
• Submission Requirements: Candidates must be prepared to work with a variety of cases, demonstrate flexibility in floating to inpatient areas when needed, and comply with all facility protocols.
