Position Overview

Our organization is thrilled to present a distinctive opportunity for Med-Peds hospitalists who are eager to pursue a career in academic hospital medicine. This role allows for a flexible blend of responsibilities on both the Med-Peds Consult Service and the pediatric hospital medicine teams, enabling candidates to customize their service distribution according to personal interests and career aspirations. We are looking for passionate individuals who wish to utilize their dual training to provide care for patients spanning from pediatric to adult age groups as we expand our clinical programs and enhance our academic mission.

• Patient Care Services:
  • Deliver patient care services for which you are clinically privileged, including but not limited to:
  • Direct patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Provide subspecialty consultations and follow-up care.
  • Administer diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures.
  • Offer urgent/emergent care services as required.
• Aim to achieve optimal patient and family-centered care.
• Support the hospital's patient satisfaction objectives and division-specific targets.
• Adhere to divisional standards for patient safety and quality of care.
• Practice contemporary evidence-based medicine or the latest experience-based approaches.

• Set and strive to meet annual goals and objectives for yourself, the division, and the hospital.
• Contribute to the medical education initiatives of the division, including:
• Supervising trainees and allied health professionals in delivering inpatient and outpatient services.
• Conducting teaching rounds, lectures, and conferences for trainees.
• Participating in the education and supervision of trainees and allied health professionals assigned to the division.
• Engaging in postgraduate continuing education activities within the division.
• Support the division's research initiatives and the research efforts of fellow members.
• Encourage programmatic growth within the division.
• Assist with satellite efforts of the division when appropriate.

• Treat colleagues, staff, and patients with respect, dignity, and courtesy.
• Foster a safe, collaborative, and professional healthcare environment.
• Uphold the organization's mission, vision, and values, emphasizing family-centered care, clinical excellence, leadership, collaboration, and accountability.

• Support the Division Chief in their role as a liaison to the professional community and the public as needed.
• Conduct teaching rounds or conferences outside the organization, particularly if they enhance divisional clinical and educational programs.
• Represent the organization in the medical and business communities and to the public in a professional manner.
• Possess essential physical and mental skills to perform the duties effectively, including:
• Ability to communicate via telephone, computer, or other devices.
• Capability to fulfill after-hours or night call responsibilities as necessary.
• Ability to work scheduled hours consistently.

All candidates must be board eligible or certified in general pediatrics and internal medicine. We welcome applications for both full-time and part-time positions.

This position is based at our main campus, which is part of a division comprising over 70 faculty members across three locations. The division supports a variety of clinical, educational, quality improvement, and research interests.
