Forklift Operator

This role involves operating a sit-down forklift and performing general warehouse duties in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. You efficiently handle palletized and non-palletized freight, support shipping and receiving operations, and help maintain accurate inventory while working a regular daytime schedule with overtime opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently to move, load, and unload palletized and non-palletized freight.
• Perform general warehouse duties, including material handling, order picking, loading, and shipping tasks.
• Sort, handle, load, and unload freight using motorized and manual equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and by hand as needed.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures while working on the dock and in the warehouse.
• Climb in and out of trailers safely to assist with loading and unloading activities.
• Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights, including up to 50 pounds frequently and more than 75 pounds occasionally.
• Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies such as pallets, straps, and rope to prevent damage and ensure safe transport.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Strong material handling skills, including loading, unloading, and moving freight safely and efficiently.
• Ability to perform order picking and general labor tasks in a warehouse setting.
• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and more than 75 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work a 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. schedule, Monday through Friday, with availability for overtime.
• Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including days and evenings, based on freight volumes.
• Reliability and commitment to prompt, consistent daily attendance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment.
• Experience in shipping and receiving operations.
• Experience with inventory tasks such as picking, counting, and organizing stock.

Work Environment

You work in a clean warehouse facility with a primary schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime available based on freight volumes. The role takes place on a loading dock that is not climate controlled and may be slippery, requiring safe footing and awareness. You regularly use sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment, and you may work in adverse weather conditions while maintaining productivity and safety.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
