Registered Nurse FCH

Role Overview Registered Nurse (FCH) responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care. Provides clinical leadership to the patient care team for the assigned shift (6:45pm – 7:15am with weekend and holiday rotation). Pay begins at $37.23 per hour and is based on experience, with an estimated compensation range of $39.12–$60.64. Responsibilities Administer medications and treatments according to protocol. Initiate a plan of care at admission, focusing on the patient’s physiological, psychological, and environmental factors. Ensure documentation reflects changes in patient condition and that notification to the appropriate individual has occurred. Clarify and review physicians’ orders and take appropriate action. Coordinate discharge planning with all team members. Transfer information during shift change using star communication. Delegate tasks to other members and hold them accountable for quality patient care. Demonstrate cost‑conscious behaviors. Effectively manage the care of patients. Handle emergency situations promptly, precisely, and professionally. Document accurate and ongoing assessments of patient status every two hours or as needed. Provide patient teaching and education about the plan of care. Enhance patient care and unit efficiency by optimizing workflow for all team members. Identify patient problems on integrated flowsheets and document against the plan of care. Initiate appropriate pathways for inpatient physician orders. Keep both patients and significant others informed. Maintain updated logs. Lead and participate in daily care to modify the plan of care. Monitor and evaluate the care provided by team members and initiate actions to ensure optimal patient care. Ensure every caregiver is productive and provide or recommend education as needed. Notify team members when an assessment is required per physician order. Perform complete assessments and document them thoroughly. Perform patient assessments each shift and document at the time of assessment. Proactively assess patient needs and participate in hourly rounding. Requirements Admitted Nursing Degree (ADN) – required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of hire. BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire. Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
