In HDR’s Water Business Group, you’ll help shape how communities manage water for generations to come, supporting public health, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure resilience. This is a leadership role focused on the Northeast Region Pump Station and Pipelines business class, aimed at growth, direction, and quality. The Regional Business Class Leader (BCL) manages a group of business class professionals and coordinates across disciplines and regions to staff and deliver large-scale, multi-discipline projects. The BCL plans, directs and oversees all aspects of large-scale projects with a high degree of technical complexity, builds and maintains client relations, and participates in project development and contract document preparation. The BCL staff across disciplines and coordinates with HDR’s regional and national leads and advisors. As a Business Class Leader, you will participate in the technical advancement and corporate management of HDR’s national pump station and pipeline business class program, utilizing HDR’s workshare program and coordinating across the HDR network. Primary Responsibilities Develop Technical Leadership and Best Practices: Lead ongoing development and improvement of technical capabilities within the Business Class, integrating national BC expertise and industry best practices into local project delivery. Contribute to the national BC knowledge base, support training activities, and coordinate subject matter expertise integration into project activities through learning and quality control activities. Promote Program Growth and Development: Lead growth and development of the Business Class, set BC-specific goals, identify opportunities across market sectors, raise visibility of HDR’s technical offerings, and participate in conferences, workshops and knowledge transfer opportunities. Partner with market sector leaders, marketing and business development teams, and operations management on region-wide goals. Deliver Projects/Programs: Lead a team practicing within the BC, manage workload, facilitate teamwork and communication, support recruitment and workshare, coordinate technical delivery of project goals, and serve in senior technical roles advising project teams and mentoring members. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 20 years’ experience leading projects and teams with a focus on pump stations and pipelines. Proven ability to manage all aspects of project delivery (scope, schedule, budget) and project teams. Experience effectively managing and motivating direct reports. Strong leadership, communication, and development strategy skills. Ability to work under tight deadlines and balance multiple projects. Strong understanding of applicable industry standards, laws, policies and procedures. Ability to implement and manage training programs, staffing plans, marketing plans, proposals and budgets. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field 10 years of experience Commitment to quality, HDR values Maintains a professional or engineering registration and related technical experience Experience in development and management of diverse teams Collaborates with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers Active participant in HDR’s employee-owned culture What We Believe & Our Commitment HDR is our company.
