Allied Technician - Sterile Processing Tech (SPT)

Central Sterilization TechnicianThis position involves working the night shift from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, Friday through Sunday, with occasional scheduled holidays. The role may require floating to various locations within the region.The Central Sterilization Technician is responsible for the effective decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and related equipment. This role requires expertise in various areas, including:Decontamination of all surgical items including drills, Da Vinci systems, and scopes.Assembly of instruments across all service lines, including trauma, loaners, and peel packaging.Execution of sterilization processes using Sterrad and steam methods.High-Level Disinfection (HLD) and scope reprocessing.Management of sterile storage and acting as a liaison within operating rooms.Utilization of the Censitrac tracking system.We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:3+ years of relevant experience in a high-volume facility.Certification from CBSPD or CRCST through HSPA (formerly IAHCSMM).Experience with automated endoscope reprocessors and various sterilization techniques.Candidates should possess skills in the following areas:Acute Hospital Operating Room and Ambulatory Surgery Center procedures.Aseptic technique and proper sterilization processes.Handling and processing of diverse surgical instruments and scopes.Equipment documentation and monitoring of sterilization testing.This role is crucial in ensuring that all instrumentation and medical supplies are sterilized and functioning appropriately, thereby preventing infections during procedures. The technician also serves as a critical liaison between the sterile processing department and the operating rooms, ensuring effective tracking and allocation of sterilized instruments across multiple locations.The position requires flexibility as it involves working various locations within the region.
