Description: The unit includes two labs, one hybrid room, and a six-bed recovery area. On average, five cases are performed each day. Common diagnoses include STEMI, NSTEMI, chest pain, stroke patients needing neuro-intervention, and peripheral angios. Additional procedures involve line placement, drain placement, and loop recorders. Charge nurses may take an assignment as needed. Shifts are eight hours, typically from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. On-call requirements include 2-3 nights per week. Weekend coverage is required every third weekend. On-call duties extend to 2-3 holidays per year. Typically, staff do not float between departments. Hospital scrubs will be provided. Unit-specific orientation consists of 32 hours, which is four shifts. Charting is done using an electronic medical record system.
