Material Handler (Forklift Operator)Jacksonville, FL 32226Job DescriptionPOSITION: Porter/ Material Handler DIVISION: Maintenance HOURS/DAYS: 7:30am to 4pm - Monday through Friday HOURLY PAY RANGE: $18 - $21 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Retrieve raw materials and deliver to work cells and/or machineryRecord and keep track of material quantities and/or weightPossess basic shop math skillsDaily cleaning of common areas, floors, restrooms, break rooms, and entrancesEmptying trash and recyclingRestocking supplies (paper, soap, PPE, etc.)Light maintenance (changing bulbs, minor repairs, reporting bigger maintenance issues)Moving furniture, deliveries, equipment, or materialsAssisting staff or guests as neededKeeping the site safe and presentableOperation of pallet jacks, forklifts, and overhead cranes with proper trainingLifting and moving heavy material dailyUse of computers for logging, adjusting and saving job updated as necessaryUse of measuring tools, including tape measures, scale and other various measurement equipmentTool and die maintenanceKeep work areas clean and organizedAbility to work unsupervised, under minimal supervision, or as part of a team while meeting all production requirementsREQUIRED SKILLS:Warehouse experienceForklift and pallet jack experienceCapable of lifting up to 50 lbsAbility to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsAble to organize and prioritize tasks, develops good work procedures, adapts to change, open to new ideasVery good communication verbally and in writing/reportingDependability - Ability to remain flexible with working schedules, to include possible overtime during evenings and weekends as neededEDUCATION LEVEL:A High School diploma is preferred with a minimum of two years' experience in warehousing operations.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.REQUIRED MATERIALS:Steel toe footwear Standard safety glasses w/side shields – company provides.
