Help Strengthen the Financial Foundation Behind Our Business CFS Brands is looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant who enjoys digging into the numbers, keeping financial records accurate, and helping the business understand what’s behind the results. In this role, you’ll support key accounting activities across reconciliations, inventory, tax, audits, and financial analysis while working closely with the broader Finance team. What You Will Do: As the Staff Accountant, you will support accurate financial reporting through the following essential functions: Journal Entries . Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations. Bank Reconciliations . Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations. Financial Reconciliations. Perform monthly Balance Sheet and P&L reconciliations. Sales Tax. Complete and file monthly/quarterly sales tax filings with the appropriate jurisdictions. Inventory Reconciliation. Reconcile Inventory On-Hand & In-Transit schedules consisting of vendor, freight, customs, & broker bills. Reserve Analysis. Analyze Inventory Excess & Obsolescence (E&O) Reserve, Bad Debt Reserve, & Rebate/commissions true-ups. Audit Support. Respond to information requests and assist with financial statement audit, sales tax audits, & 401k audits. Financial Analysis. Complete margin, variance, trend, & ad hoc analyses. Office Presence. On-site presence Monday – Friday in our office facility in Lodi, NJ. What Makes You Successful: Accounting Foundation : You bring a solid understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements. Analytical Mindset : You’re comfortable working with detailed financial data, investigating discrepancies, and identifying the story behind the numbers. Accuracy & Ownership : You’re organized, detail-oriented, and take pride in producing accurate work while managing multiple deadlines and priorities. Cross - Functional Collaboration : You build strong working relationships across teams, communicate clearly, and partner with others to gather information, resolve discrepancies, and keep financial processes moving forward. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 2 years of related working experience. Knowledge of accounts receivable and general accounting procedures. Strong problem-solving and customer service skills. Proficient in data entry MS Office Suite and other accounting software. Proficient in Microsoft Excel (V-lookups, X-lookups and pivot tables). Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively prioritizes multiple tasks. Excellent verbal and written and communication skills.
