Preschool Lead Teacher

Kids Connection Preschool is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and nurturing Preschool Lead Teacher to join our teaching team! This position is ideal for an early childhood educator who is ready to lead a joyful, developmentally appropriate classroom while working closely with a Co-Teacher and supportive leadership team.

At Kids Connection, we believe children thrive when they feel seen, supported, and inspired. We serve children ages 2–5 in low-ratio classrooms and combine hands-on learning, intentional academics, and joyful discovery to help children become confident, curious, and independent thinkers.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead a warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate preschool classroom.
• Plan and implement lessons aligned with the Kids Connection curriculum while incorporating your own creativity, interests, and teaching style.
• Create hands-on learning experiences that support early literacy, math, problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
• Support each child’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
• Maintain a safe, organized, inclusive, and visually engaging classroom environment.
• Collaborate closely with a Co-Teacher to share classroom responsibilities and provide consistency for students.
• Prepare and organize classroom materials, project supplies, learning centers, and activities.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with children and families.
• Observe and assess student development, maintain required documentation, and lead parent conferences.
• Use positive guidance and effective classroom management strategies.
• Communicate professionally and consistently with families, coworkers, and school leadership.
• Follow all health, safety, emergency, mandated reporting, and California Community Care Licensing requirements.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, school events, Open House, Back-to-School Night, and family activities.

Qualifications:

• At least 12 Early Childhood Education units, including required core courses.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
• At least two years of preschool classroom experience.
• Strong classroom management, communication, organization, and leadership skills.
• Collaborative and dependable, with a willingness to share responsibilities with a Co-Teacher.
• Enthusiasm, creativity, and a nurturing approach to working with young children.
• Pediatric CPR certification, or willingness to obtain through Kids Connection.
• Successful Live Scan background clearance and licensing eligibility required.

Schedule and Compensation:

• Full-time, Monday–Friday
• Foster City location
• $28.00–$39.00 per hour
• Estimated annual compensation of $58,240–$81,120, depending on experience and education
• Bonus opportunities available
