Responsibilities As a Water/Wastewater Mechanic I based in Lincoln, CA, you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on water and wastewater treatment plants and related facility equipment. Your duties will include: Inspecting and maintaining buildings, structures, grounds, machinery and equipment Lubricating equipment and checking for malfunctions Replacing packing in pumps or valves and bearings in motors Tuning engines, setting valve clearance, cleaning and adjusting regulators Examining equipment failures to identify causes and prevent recurrences Installing and setting up new equipment Cleaning and painting interior and exterior equipment and buildings Leaking pipes and performing plumbing and pipe‑fitting tasks as required Using gas and/or arc welding equipment to heat, cut, braze or weld Assisting with painter duties when necessary Keeping maintenance records and performing other duties as required Acting to ensure the safety, health and well‑being of you and your team Qualifications Required: One year of experience in the maintenance of wastewater treatment plants or similar maintenance experience A valid Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) certification, MWEA Certification, or ability to obtain one within 18 months of hire Proficiency in the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) A valid driver’s license with no major infractions Preferred: Forklift experience Experience serving municipal utility clients Safe work practices Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Safety is a core value at Jacobs. Proper safety equipment will be mandatory to prevent hazardous contact. Benefits The base salary range for this position is $49,300.00 to $64,100.00, paid hourly based on hours worked. Payments are determined by location and additional factors such as job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
