Radiology - X-Ray Tech

X-Ray TechnologistAvailable Friday to Sunday from 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM EST, on-call and holidays based on unit needs. Must be able to report to on-call shifts within 30 minutes.Responsibilities:Verify patient identity and review physician orders prior to conducting x-ray procedures.Utilize x-ray equipment to capture radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs as per physician directives.Explain x-ray procedures to patients and address any questions or concerns they may have.Position patients appropriately, including assisting those with limited mobility.Safely handle all radiologic equipment, ensuring patient exposure to radiation is minimized.Observe and assess each patient's condition and respond to their age-specific needs.Produce diagnostic and high-quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist.Promptly notify management of any damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.Utilize electronic patient information systems to confirm patient details and ensure accuracy of exams, following dual patient identifier procedures.Maintain accurate patient records by properly identifying images and ensuring they are uploaded correctly to the PACS system.Requirements:Completion of formal training in an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).New York State license or ability to obtain a license prior to starting.A minimum of 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Technologist.Experience in a Level 1 trauma center is preferred.Ability to safely lift or move patients and to stand for extended periods.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective written and verbal communication abilities.Compassionate and patient-centered disposition.Team player with the ability to foster a cohesive working environment.Current BLS certification.Experience using C-arm/O-arm within the past 8 months is required.Recent experience in an operating room setting is essential.
