Overview Sterile Processing Tech – ASC – Casual. This is a casual position with flexibility in hours up to 4 hours per week, or 8 hours in one week. Location: Green Bay, Wisconsin, United States. Job Summary The Sterile Processing and Decontamination (SPD) Technician is responsible for maintaining high standards for decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment for surgical and ancillary departments. The SPD Technician works with operating room staff to provide timely sterile products and maintains workflow and customer service. Responsibilities Perform decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers, and equipment per protocols. Operate sterilization equipment and inspect instruments, equipment, and containers for cleanliness and function. Maintain quality control by monitoring, reading, documenting, and interpreting all parameters for all types of sterilizers. Work closely with Operating Room staff to identify supply and equipment needs for scheduled procedures. Correct instrument sets according to current standards and established count sheets or instrument tracking systems. Education Qualifications High School Diploma and/or GED. Experience Qualifications 1–3 years of instrument processing or sterile processing experience, or prior medical field experience such as CNA or MA (preferred). Skills and Abilities Excellent interpersonal skills and behaviors. Ability to form patient and peer relationships. Ability to prioritize work and meet changing demands. Fosters teamwork through effective written and verbal communication. Works with constant alertness and safety. Licenses and Certifications CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers issued by AHA – required upon hire.
