CDL Driver

Position Overview The CDL Driver at SRS is responsible for safe, timely delivery of building materials to job sites, verifying inventory, following safety protocols, and maintaining high service standards to support operational efficiency and foster strong customer relationships. Responsibilities Safely operate Class A/B commercial vehicles within a 200‑mile radius, following DOT regulations and avoiding overnight travel. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections, verify inventory accuracy, and ensure secure, damage‑free deliveries. Assess job site conditions to prevent hazards, collaborate with customers for material placement, and document deliveries with photos as required. Support yard operations and uphold OSHA safety standards to maintain a clean, efficient, and safe work environment. Reporting Structure Reports to the Assistant Branch Manager or Operations Manager; may supervise or train junior drivers when required. Travel & Physical Requirements Travel locally and interstate within a 200‑mile radius; all deliveries must start and end at the home branch the same day. Physically capable of long hours of driving and handling materials up to 100 pounds; including loading/unloading with forklifts or manually in varied weather and noisy environments. Ability to read job‑related documents in English. Minimum Qualifications Valid CDL Class A or B with air brakes endorsement and a clean driving record. Experience in commercial driving and knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations. High school diploma or GED required; vocational or industry‑specific training in truck driving preferred. Ages 18+ (21 for interstate/hazmat), complete background checks, drug tests, and E‑Verify compliance. USERRA, ADA accommodations, and commitment to diversity and inclusion. Preferred Qualifications Hazmat endorsement and strong vehicle maintenance skills. Experience with multi‑drop deliveries and fleet management systems. Multilingual abilities are a plus for customer communication. Certifications Current DOT Medical Certificate. Forklift certification (preferred). FMCSA Registration (required). Competencies Strong safety compliance through inspections and adherence to DOT/OSHA regulations. Operational efficiency via accurate inventory handling and timely deliveries. Excellent customer service with professional on‑site coordination. Ability to adapt quickly to challenges, maintain detailed records, and communicate effectively in English. Physical capability to handle heavy materials and perform in demanding environments.
