Human Resources Generalist

This full-time, on-site Human Resources Generalist role is based in San Diego, CA. The Human Resources Generalist will support day-to-day HR operations, including onboarding and offboarding employees, maintaining personnel records, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. This role will assist with administering employee benefits, responding to HR-related inquiries, and helping staff understand HR policies and procedures. The position will also support recruitment processes, including posting job openings, screening applications, coordinating interviews, and assisting with new hire orientations. In addition, the Human Resources Generalist will help maintain HR systems, prepare routine HR reports, and partner with managers to promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Human Resources (HR) and HR Management, with experience supporting day-to-day HR operations.
• Knowledge of HR Policies and employment law fundamentals, with the ability to apply them consistently and fairly.
• Experience with Employee Benefits and Benefits Administration, including enrollment, changes, and employee communications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
• Proficiency with HRIS and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office or equivalent tools).
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working in healthcare, nonprofit, or community-based settings is preferred.
