Job Description
Job Title: Med Surg/PCU/Tele RN - Neuro Trauma

Profession: Registered Nurse

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of MS, PCU, or ICU experience

License: Active RN license required

Certifications: BLS, NIHSS

Must-Have:
- Experience with tracheostomies and ventilators
- Recent experience within the last year in a similar setting
- Titration experience for drips such as Heparin, Nitro, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, 3%, Insulin

Description:
Position focuses on providing care in a stepdown unit with a neuro specialty.
The unit has a capacity of 28 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 during the day and 1:5-6 at night, dependent on acuity.
Common diagnoses include strokes, seizures, Guillain-Barré syndrome, myasthenia gravis, spinal injuries, and trauma-related orthopedic injuries.
Nurses are expected to handle a variety of titratable drips and may receive training on ventilators, but must be willing to learn.
Floating to sister medical-surgical units will be required.
Self-scheduling is available, though shifts will be balanced by management.
Every other weekend and two or three holidays during winter will be required.
RNs will work with respiratory therapy equipment including vents and CPAPs, and central monitors for telemetry.
First-time travelers are welcome, provided they meet experience and skill requirements.
Dress code includes any solid color scrubs.
