Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

This job is for an advanced practice registered nurse who provides comprehensive primary and preventative health care and disease management to individuals within a discipline of certification (Adults, Pediatrics, Family, and Women's Health). The incumbents in this job have routine access to individually identifiable health information including the patients' entire medical records on a need-to-know basis only. All employees of NCHC are responsible to practice good risk management, quality assurance, and deliver excellent internal and external customer service. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Performs primary and preventative health services and disease management to individuals within a specified scope of practice under the auspices of a collaborating physician.
• Prepares and reviews case histories and obtains data through patient interviews.
• Participates in the provider on-call schedule.
• Participates in in-patient rounds as necessary.
• Performs office-based procedures with appropriate training.
• Educates patients on procedures performed and the importance of follow-up.
• Maintains accurate and legible medical records in compliance with NCHC policies.
• Prescribes medications and therapies for treatment and preventative care.
• Assist in the development of department policies and procedures.
• Collects in-patient invoices and submits them to the CMO's office on a timely basis.
• Participates in department and Clinical Services meetings.
• Participates in health initiatives and collaboratives.
• Meets patient utilization standards set by NCHC.

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse with a master's degree as an advanced nurse practitioner.
• Licensed by the state of NJ as a registered nurse and an advanced practice nurse with prescriptive authority preferred (NJ CDS, federal DEA).
• Federal NPI.
• Certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, National Certification Corporation or the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
• Considerable knowledge of state and federal public health laws specifically in regard to Medicine.
