Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Telemetry/PCU RN for a night shift assignment in a Level I trauma teaching hospital, requiring trauma surgical and transplant patient experience.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a Level I trauma teaching hospital
• Trauma surgical and abdominal transplant patient population
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Telemetry monitoring with cardiac drips (no titration) and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• IV insulin and heparin protocol management
• Wound care/wound vac, surgical drains, and ortho trauma/traction care
• BiPAP/CPAP and tracheostomy care preferred
• Float requirement within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
• Expected to work 3 of 5 winter holidays

Requirements

• Active KY State or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a trauma surgical or transplant patient population
• Experience in a Level I Trauma Center, teaching facility, or high-volume facility required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Transplant experience preferred
• At least one professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide care to trauma surgical and transplant patients including monitoring, medication management, and post-surgical support
• Candidates who previously worked at any UK-affiliated facility must disclose this at time of consideration for rehire eligibility review
• Former UK staff must have a 6-month gap since departure to return as a traveler
• Any license hits will result in disqualification from consideration
• RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration; requests submitted afterward will not be approved
• Local candidates residing within 100 miles are not accepted for this position
