Job Title: Associate Attorney – Defense Litigation Location: Albany, NY Job Type: Full Time - Onsite Job Summary The Associate Attorney will assist with all phases of defense litigation matters from case inception through resolution. Responsibilities include drafting motions and pleadings, conducting legal research, handling discovery, attending depositions, communicating with clients, and assisting with trial preparation. This role is ideal for a junior attorney looking to gain strong hands‑on litigation experience with mentorship and training. The firm focuses on areas such as: Insurance Defense Labor & Employment Personal Injury Defense Commercial Litigation Construction Litigation General Liability Defense Responsibilities Assist with all phases of defense litigation matters Draft motions, pleadings, legal correspondence, and discovery documents Conduct legal research and case investigations Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and court appearances Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel Support trial preparation and litigation strategy Manage deadlines and maintain organized case files Review records, reports, and litigation documents Travel throughout New York State for litigation matters as needed Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school Admission to practice law in New York State required 0–5 years of litigation experience preferred Strong legal writing and communication skills Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines Reliable transportation required Experience in insurance defense or civil litigation is a plus Ideal Candidate Junior attorney interested in building a long-term litigation career Strong interest in defense litigation and courtroom work Comfortable handling multiple cases and deadlines Detail‑oriented, organized, and self‑motivated Strong legal research and writing skills Able to communicate professionally with clients and attorneys Experience with motions, discovery, depositions, or court appearances is preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr RecruitPod Global
