Location Taconic Rehabilitation and Nursing at Ulster, 1 Wingate Way, Highland, NY 12528, USA Pay $50/hr Job Description Physical Therapists work with patients to improve their movement and manage their pain. PTs use a variety of techniques to help their patients, including hands‑on therapy, strengthening and stretching exercises, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, ice/heat, and much more. Responsibilities Conduct physical and psychological assessments of clients to understand their condition and develop or follow a treatment plan. Participate in family care plan meetings and educate caregivers and family members about patient care. Create personalized fitness‑oriented health care programs for patients. Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain and improve mobility. Consult and collaborate with other healthcare professionals regarding patients. Demonstrate ability to work with geriatric residents. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Physical Therapist licensure. Degree in Physical Therapy from a program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). CPR certification. Physical strength to lift between 50–100 lbs. Knowledge, skills, and techniques of age‑specific developmental factors and ability to evaluate patients. Up‑to‑date knowledge of treatment practices and physical therapy programs. Experience in long‑term care preferred. Flexibility, punctuality, professionalism, and reliability. Strong customer service skills and compassion. Ability to collaborate with a wide range of health‑care disciplines and provide insight to patients and families. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Respect for residents’ privacy and rights; genuine concern and empathy for the elderly. Ability to perform tasks while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness, and kindness.
