Legal Document Reviewer

Role Overview

Help ensure large volumes of processed legal documents are reviewed accurately and consistently. This quality-control and verification role focuses on creating practical review standards, checking sensitive and identifying information, and resolving defects, rather than drafting documents or providing legal advice.

Key Responsibilities

• Create clear grading rubrics for legal documents that can be understood and applied by non-lawyers.
• Review processed legal documents against written quality-control rubrics, confirming that every identifying and sensitive element has been handled correctly.
• Identify and categorize defects, and escalate unclear cases for adjudication.
• Work across commercial contracts; employment and HR records; IP and technology agreements; regulatory filings; corporate records; insurance policies; financing and debt instruments; litigation files; real estate documents; and tax filings.

Qualifications

• Qualified U.S.-based lawyer with 3 or more years of post-qualification experience, ideally as in-house counsel or a generalist commercial counsel.
• Comfortable working across a broad range of legal document types, with breadth of experience valued more than deep specialization in one practice area.
• Experience with managed document review, e-discovery, contract management, or data privacy is a strong advantage.
• Demonstrated precision and consistency in high-volume review work.
• Ability to follow written protocols closely and improve them where appropriate.

Work Terms

• Remote, hourly engagement.

Compensation

• $60 per hour.
