Overview UnityPoint Health is actively recruiting for an Emergency Medicine Advanced Practice Provider to join our team in Sioux City, Iowa Experienced team of physicians, APPs and support staff with low turnover and excellent patient outcomes Full-time benefit-eligible, hospital employed opportunity ED is well-supported by specialists 24/7 hospitalist program responsible for admissions Flexible schedule managed locally - team trades amongst themselves St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center serves 175,00 people in a three-state region of Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination Responsibilities Hybrid position working a mix of shifts in the Emergency Department and Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) ED: 9-hour shifts Monday -Friday (8a-5p, 11a-9p, 10p-7a) ED: 12-hour shifts Saturday – Sunday (7a-7p, 7p-7a) Clinic Decision Unit: 6-hour shifts Monday – Friday (8a-2p) 0.9 FTE = 72 hours per pay period (every 2 weeks) Annual ED visit volume = 33,000 Average ED patients per day = 89 Average 1.2-1.6 patients per hour in ED 40 hours of physician coverage & 27 hours of APP coverage per day in ED Level 3 Trauma Center 22 bed ED + 12 bed clinical decision unit + 10 bed fast track + 2 trauma bays APP’s manage CDU with physician oversight Integral part of the Emergency Medicine team Ability to see broad range of patient complaints and practice to top of your license No call, good work/life balance Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills Qualifications Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Board Certified Minimum of 1 year of postgraduate experience, preferrably in Emergency Medicine or Critical Care Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice Eligible to work in the United States We Offer Competitive hourly rate A competitive Total Rewards program offers benefits that align with your needs and priorities, no matter what stage of life you are in.
