Associate Clinical Specialist, Pain Interventions – Sacramento, CA As an Associate Clinical Specialist, you will support Medtronic’s Neuromodulation Pain and Target Drug Delivery Therapies through surgical coverage, follow‑up support, troubleshooting, customer service, and education. This is a field‑based position supporting a district and territory. The application window closes on 11May2025. A Day in the Life Represent Medtronic during surgical procedures by ensuring all necessary equipment and products are available, providing technical support and device selection, and performing programming and testing of all device systems. Manage patients through all phases of the clinical process and educate them on the features and benefits of Medtronic products. Provide clinical support in surgeries, re‑programmings, troubleshooting, and follow‑ups in hospitals and clinics. Respond promptly and appropriately to technical inquiries from customers, patients, and colleagues. Maintain a working knowledge of competitive products. Educate and train physicians, hospital personnel, and office staff on products and therapies through one‑on‑one sessions, formal in‑services, education programs, seminars, and outside symposia as directed by leadership. Assist Management and the Sales Training department in educating new employees in the district. Comply with required event reporting and documentation using Medtronic technology tools. Place orders with customer service for pending purchase orders and product replacement. Work with materials management to collect POs for cases covered within the territory/district. Manage inventory for case coverage, ensuring timely transactions, cycle‑count accuracy, and compliance with product usage policies. Contribute to quarterly goals associated with specific initiatives at the district, regional, and/or national level. Partner with sales representatives to achieve business goals and document quarterly activities. Visit accounts to replenish literature and maintain relationships with office staff. Utilize Excel, a mobile phone, an IPAD, a laptop, and/or a Samsung tablet regularly. Manage business expenses and budget effectively within the given timeframe. Ensure personal understanding of all quality policy/system items that apply. Complete all new‑hire therapy trainings and corporate compliance training on time. Maintain flexibility with schedule, including weekends, evenings, and nights as required. Travel to cover district cases as needed, and occasionally to other districts. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 4years of clinical or medical sales experience; OR Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 2years of clinical or medical sales experience; OR Bachelor’s degree. Nice to have: Bachelor’s degree in a health‑care related field, Master’s degree, Registered nurse or HCP with sterile‑environment experience, clinical experience with implantable neurological products, experience servicing medical personnel, experience with a medical device or pharmaceutical company in neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, operating room, pain management, or home health care, understanding of reimbursement and the healthcare environment, excellent organizational skills. Additional Job Requirements Use healthcare universal precautions to minimize exposure to infectious disease and radiation. Serve as the primary resource for scheduled and unscheduled clinical events, including weekends, evenings, nights, and overnight travel within the district. Work efficiently and autonomously with little direction when outside of clinical events. Attend national and district meetings and other training as requested. Wear a 7–9lb protective lead apron in the operating room. Lift up to 40lb. Sit, stand, and walk for 8+ hours per day; bend, stoop, squat, and balance frequently. Have appropriate visual abilities for computer use. Hold a valid driver’s license, active vehicle insurance, and a clean driving record; drive approximately 50% of the time within the assigned territory with potential overnight travel. Benefits & Compensation Salary range: $64,000.00 - $80,000.00 - $96,000.00 (USD, U.S. locations excluding Puerto Rico and specific California locations). Eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) to earn incentive compensation.
