About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1-2 years preferred License: Current registered nurse license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS preferred Must-Have: Cardiovascular experience required Must have experience with patient ratios of 1:4 Description: Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit for night shifts. The unit consists of 55 beds with a daily census of approximately 38 patients. The role requires extensive cardiovascular experience. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4 during nights. Weekend coverage is needed on an as-needed basis. Float requirements to similar units within scope may apply. No on-call requirements for this position. Nurses will manage various telemetry and cardiac care procedures. Responsibilities include BiPAP/CPAP management and blood product administration. Candidates should be proficient in the interpretation of dysrhythmias. Experience with central line care and management is essential. Nurses will also be responsible for administering medications and managing IVs. Candidates must adhere to all infection control and isolation precautions. This position involves collaboration with interdisciplinary support services. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. This role may involve rounding and coordination with respiratory services and physical therapy. Other patient diagnoses may include congestive heart failure and coronary artery conditions. Preference will be given to those with experience in complex cardiac cases. All candidates must possess effective communication skills and be team-oriented.
