Tech - CT

Job Summary:
The CT technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic computed tomography (CT) scans with precision, ensuring high-quality imaging for accurate diagnosis. They follow safety protocols, maintain equipment, and assist with radiopharmaceutical procedures as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Operate CT equipment using appropriate techniques to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
• Perform daily quality control and calibration checks on all imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Inject patients with radioactive materials following physician orders and established protocols.
• Document department activities accurately by maintaining logs, manuals, and charge records; report equipment issues promptly.
• Conduct quality assurance and safety tests, adhering to radiation safety standards and the ALARA principle.
• Prepare and verify radiopharmaceutical doses, receiving and documenting delivery, and verifying activity levels before administration.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited JCERT-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Hold a valid New York State License (L.R.T.) and ARRT certification, including CT certification.
• Possess at least 1 year of clinical CT experience.
• Be certified in BLS (Basic Life Support).
• Meet all licensing and certification requirements set by NYS DOH and ARRT.
