Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Location: Rome, GA

Facility Type: 361-Bed, Level 2 Trauma & Teaching Hospital (Residency Program)

Specialty Centers: Accredited Chest Pain Center & Stroke Center

Shift: 8-Hour Day Shift (Mon – Fri, 0730 – 1600) | 40 hours/week

Setting: Solo or Small Team Environment (No floating required)

We are seeking a skilled and independent Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a contract opportunity at a premier teaching hospital in Rome, GA. This busy department averages 14 adult patients per day across 3 procedure rooms. You will be performing a comprehensive range of nuclear medicine scans, working alongside a supportive team during the week, and maintaining autonomy over your daily casework.

• Perform high-quality adult nuclear medicine scans, including:

  • Cardiac scans & Stress/Rest tests

  • HIDA scans, GI Bleeds, and VQ (Lung) scans

  • Gastric, Renal, Bone, and Parathyroid with SPECT-CT scans

  • Administration of I-131

• Initiate and maintain IV access for radiopharmaceutical administration.

• Operate advanced imaging equipment efficiently while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of dedicated Nuclear Medicine experience.

• Travelers: First-time travelers are welcome!

• Certifications: ARRT (N) OR NMTCB required.

• Life Support: Active BLS required.

• State License: None required for the state of Georgia.

• Required Equipment: Siemens CKM and Siemens Symbia S.

• Preferred Equipment: Siemens Prospecta.

• EMR & PACS: EPIC and Philips PACS.

• Hard Stops (Must have independent proficiency in): Cardiac/stress rest tests, HIDA scans, GI bleeds, VQ scans, and starting IVs.

• Solo Capability: Must be comfortable working independently, as you may be the sole tech on shift at times.

• Schedule Cycle: Set schedule (Mon–Fri, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM).

• Weekend Rotation: None.

• On-Call Requirements: "Late" call only (no overnights). Required Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday until 1800 (6:00 PM).

• Call Response Time: 1 hour.

• Holidays: Call-only requirement if the holiday falls on your regularly scheduled shift.

• Requested Time Off (RTO): Subject to manager approval.

• Support System: Access to a Lead Tech, Department Management, House Transport, an RN on weekends for cardiac cases, and an on-site Rapid Response/Code Team.

• Orientation: Comprehensive Facility NEO followed by 4 shifts of dedicated clinical orientation within the department.

• Dress Code: Professional black scrubs.

• Parking: On-site parking is 100% free.
